I have been a Cold Steel Fanatic ha ha Since they Ran Advertisement in Soldier Of Fortune Magazine in the 80's with the Push Dagger. because of Spinal Injuries ( I refuse a Wheel Chair, even the Fancy ones) I mainly just work out with Hand to Hand Combat Weapons of course all Cold Steel Stuff, Canes, War Clubs, Tomahawk, Swords, Pole Ax ( I got it a Back when it was being Discontinued and got a super Price and now it's backs! etc etc etc plus Medicine Balls and Dumbbells . Oh yeah I've shattered a Ceiling Fan, sliced a Nice Leather chairs Armrest , exploded Lambs ha ha ha. I use what space I Have . When My Package Arrived ( actually two creamy Grayish Doves Flew away- yeah the kind that are a GOOD Meal to eat). When I held the Ax and it felt so Natural in My Hand, amazing Balance and Leverage plus you understand the Damage it can do. The Grip is Fantastic! Only word I can think of is " Waxy" , it won't slip easy so go ahead and swirl it , hook, slice, Dice, and chop. Superior Weapon to wield. After Me doing so for about a Week the AX got a bit loose, no Problemo Señor there is a Hex Nut and just tighten it up and Bingo- Solved! This is an Combat Weapon not an Farm Ax or Camp Ax but it could do some of that if Necessary. If you need one to Chop Wood get a Trail Boss Ya know. I Like It, No I Love it so it's all 5 Stars for Me. It'll Work. I'm just so Happy Thank You Cold Steel!

I ordered this to add to my collection of axes that I already own,(Norse Hawk,Trail Hawk). I had mentioned to a friend that I was on the market for a bearded axe and he said that Cold Steel had just advertised one . Since I own a few Cold Steel Products already,(Raja II,Culloden Skean Dhu, Gunsite Voyager, Tanto Ex Lg Voyager, Kukri machete, Blackthorn walking stick, Shambok,SRK Tanto, Recon Scout, and 3 or 4 Kudu's, oh and the Spetznaz Shovel and just recently a Ten Shin which I gave a 5 star review), I knew the quality of the axe was going to be excellent. I wasn't disappointed . It is light enough for some seriously fast jab and slashing and I especially enjoy the fact that the handle is 29 1/2 inches long increasing reach. The head also has an allen wrench set screw to increase the tightness of the head to the handle which I give a lot of design credits to Cold Steel for. Anyone thats used an Axe will eventually break the handle or through use, loosen the head a bit. That set screw most certainly make things a lot easier to change the handle or tighten the head. This is a no nonsense tool that will not disappoint. Need to get in touch with your inner Viking ? Planning on going to a StrandHögg or 2 ? Or just looking for an axe for general purposes ? You found it….This is the one.

My wife got this for me for Christmas last year and I was suitably impressed with it. I had been looking for a good quality axe of this style and this fit the bill nicely. The only issue I had with it was that they head was a little loose, but a quarter turn with a hex key and it tightened up nicely. I used to (along with my Gladius machete and Vietnam tomahawk) to dismantle the Christmas tree and it worked beautifully. I have spent the rest of the time I have had it training to fight with it. Would gladly take it into battle with me ( as I would most of the nearly 100 cold steel items I own).
