A Great Tactical Folder
I bought this to replace my Cold Steel Gunsite II folder. I went with the plain edge this time for ease of sharpening and have no regrets.
Not sure if it's by design or not, but the blade is a little difficult to open and close. I used to be able to open my old one with my thumb alone while this one takes a slight flick of the wrist. This may be adjustable though by loosening the large screw.
Absolutely zero play in the blade when open. Very comfortable to hold and razor sharp right out of the box. The handle is like shark skin and the finger grooves make for a very safe, secure grip. There is also jimping on the back of the handle for the thumb.
The Teflon finish on the blade gets marked up fairly easily, but hasn't come off yet.
The pocket clip was so tight I had to bend it out slightly; otherwise, it grabbed my pocket and wouldn't let go! I miss the molded-in clips on the older models. They were easier on your clothes, secure without grabbing too hard and didn't scream "I'm carrying a knife" like this more traditional clip does.
It's scary, black finish might be enough to send the bad guys running, but you'll probably raise a few eyebrows if you whip this one out to use as a letter opener.
All in all, an absolutely fantastic knife that I never leave home without.
