Amazing Machete
The machete itself performed wonderfully. I am a severe duty user, chopping inch-thick wood and vines for two-and-a-half hours was all pleasure. I have the 18 inch one.
The blade came sharp, much sharper than usual. I was able to sever hanging vines up to 1.5 inches thick in a single stroke. I can flick the tops of sticker bushes (aka Indiana THORnbushes) off easily. I can chop 3-inch honey locust saplings down with a few strokes. The handle is amazing - big enough for my large hands with winder gloves on.
Why, then, did I not give it 5 stars? The sheath. I have seen the Secure-EX sheaths, and wish they'd include one for this. The sheath included has a very cheap, brittle plastic insert that is crumbling and falling out with no severe use on the sheath (I didn't hit things with it or anything like that).
Overall, I'd say 9.5 out of 10, just get a better sheath, ltspecpro!

Yes I'm in love
Purchased a 12" and gave up my heart. I've always liked the sax design even though I'd never had the chance to use one. When mine showed up along with my 18" spear point I went straight to the sax. Its a huge Bowie pure and simple. The point is acute and strong. It's edge came to a shaving edge in about 15 min.s. It chops, slices, batons, works as a draw knife, handles small chores very well. Its light weight and blade length make it dance in your hand. For the money this is one of the best buys I've made. Please Please keep at least some of the 12" models.
