The Barong, with its unique leaf shaped blade, is common throughout all of Southeast Asia. Very often it is used for utilitarian purposes to clear jungles or as an agricultural tool, but it is also known as a savagely effective weapon of warfare. We at Cold Steel admire the Barong and are proud to offer it here as a Machete in 12 and 18-inch blade lengths complete with a Cor-Ex sheath.
Captured the Usefulness
The utility of this pattern has been well captured and translated into good steel. The blade cut well out of the box through oak, maple, sycamore, and locust. Sharpening to compare edges. The ringing helped teach one daughter more about steel quality. Bought one for the trunk of her car, and started training...

My absolute fave...
Probably the most effective machete on earth as a weapon. A good tool for brush cutting as well, though that long tip tends to bang into things when chopping in tight spaces. A powerful chopper (way beyond what a typical machete will do) on things where you have room for the tip to clear. Steel quality seems better than most other machetes, even Cold Steel ones. Rings like a bell when you tap it but still seems quite flexible. Havent broken one yet, in any case. I have a dozen of these things and will keep ordering them along until they are gone. An amazing value...

18" Barong Machete
Great Machete-I own some land in East Texas, lots of brush, weeds, etc. It goes thru it like a knife thru butter-came from LT very sharp. Easy to sharpen after a hard days' work. Great value for the money!

Good working blade
Useful for cutting 'woody' growth - sunflowers, etc... A good blade shape. I used a file on this for a few minutes before working with it, that helps a lot.
